Frequently asked dBDRA Questions

What is the difference between dBDRA 1X, 2X, and 3X Events?

Event registrations determine the competitive scale, point multipliers, and structural requirements for a sanctioned sound-off competition.

  • 1X Event Registration - $100: Single-point local/retailer events. No certified judge required. Term-LAB Magnum required for judging.
  • 2X Event Registration - $250: Double points for regional events. Requires dBDRA 2X (or higher) certified judging staff. Judge fees not included. Term-LAB Magnum required for judging.
  • 3X Event Registration - $500: Triple points + World Record eligibility. Requires dBDRA 3X/4X Certified Judge. Judge fees not included. Term-LAB Magnum required for judging.

What does a dBDRA Competitor Membership include?

What is a Manufacturer Membership?

A $1,000 annual corporate tier for car audio brands. Includes logo placement on dBDRA materials, technical integration support, and exposure to 120,000+ SPL competitors. For manufacturers, not individual competitors.

Do I need a dBDRA membership to compete?

You can compete in a dBDRA event without a membership. Points are tracked by competitor name and will be applied retroactively if you purchase a membership later in the season.

A current dBDRA Competitor Membership is required to qualify for World Finals, set World Records and to be eligible for the points race. We recommend joining before your first event to lock in benefits like the dB Jams music library and digital certificate.
